Illness…none want it,
Most scare it,
And all wish,
To get rid of it.
Yet, it asks no one,
And strikes on its own,
For it's here to survive,
As long as there is life.
But it's not just about grief,
For it boosts belief,
And it's not just about pain,
´Coz beyond lies the gain.
For it makes you strong,
As you heal along,
And fosters your faith,
As you pray unabate(d).
It makes you love,
Your loved ones even more,
And binds you together,
Like never before!
It rediscovers you,
To the core and beyond,
And uncovers things,
You were probably never fond (of).
It etches its imprint,
On to your mind,
Though you would never ever,
Wish it to rewind.
Once you beat it,
To emerge a winner,
And ever think of it,
When you sit down at dinner,
It sends those chills,
Down your spine,
But at the end of it,
(Re) connects you with the Divine.
